"Just think, somewhere in Japan there was at least one guy who was completely psyched after watching Madoka 10. He probably had the BDs preordered and everything, and couldn’t stop thinking about how next week’s episode was going to unfold. Then, while walking home, he got swept up in the tsunami, never to see how Madoka would end. The BDs will be delivered to the ruins of his house, just sitting there, never opened, never watched."

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Backwards

It’s a tale of humanity’s minisculeness.

It starts out with humanity battling GOD himself, flinging galaxies at him.
Humanity is beaten, but refuses to go down without a fight.

Throughout the show, humanity is beaten time and time again, spiraling downwards into being morre and more opressed, and starts sheltering people below the earth in order to save small colonies, as God has promised that as long as no more than 1 million (i think?) humans walk on the earth, they will be spared.

One man decides it is his duty to make sure everyone gets down in small caves, so as to save humanity.
The humans are guided down into colonies by big robots, which get left somewhere in the city, should they ever need to return to the surface, and the key is hidden somewhere in the wall.

TL;DR, it’s basically what happened before TTGL started.

TTGL backwards is TTGL’s prequel

"The show is /a/ in it’s every sense. There are the perfectionst’s coplaining about writing styles, yaoi-fangirls, that one normalfag, who wants to be different, the domestic violence-emo’s, and abusive mailgirls, mailgirls everywhere. And everyhtread is absurd and left people in despair. Oh, and the Komoris. Some people stalk their waifu’s, and there might be some japanese too, who don’t like there are home in here. And poets and good storytellers of course, they appear too some times. And then there is you, the invisible nerd, who everybody ignores. Eventualy people find something insightful, that is lesson of that period. Then comes the ending theme. That’s my /a/."
