Maybe it’s cheating to put 2 moments from the same show, with the same music no less. I don’t even think this is a very good show. But damn it, this was the perfect culmination of all the emotions building up throughout the series.

That second when everything freezes in the ending sequence. Secret Base is a beautiful song, a perfect fit for this series. This moment is holding its breath, waiting for something. The quick zoom out and reversal of the falling flowers provide sweet, downright cathartic release.
When I think back on some anime, there are moments that define my memory of them. I like to think of them as “perfect moments,” when everything comes together to form something greater than the sum. These moments are fleeting, lasting 1, maybe 2 seconds at most. This is part of a series of posts dedicated to such moments.
